Last Minute Class Valentines “Love Bugs”

These last minute “Love Bug” Valentines for your child’s class will certainly save the day!  If you are like me and have MOM brain you will at some point forget that you and your child need to prepare some 30 Valentines for each of your children’s classes.  This can be a bit overwhelming and has left me up late writing names on little valentines into all hours of the night.  These cute little LOVE BUGS are super fast and easy to make.  Best of all you don’t have to write names on them!

Instructions for Last Minute Class Valentines “Love Bugs”

  1. Start off with any packaged food or candy.  We decided to use fruit snacks but lots of packaged foods will work, just make sure the package has a little squish to them.
  1. Cut pipe cleaners in half.
  1. Wrap pipe cleaner around the package of food and twist at the top leaving two “antenna” sticking up.  You can be done here but the next step is fun for the kids.
  1. Stick your sticky eyes wherever you want!  I prefer them on the end of the antenna but my kids thought their bugs were better with the eyes on the package itself.
  1. Finally, if you have other bug accessories, now is the time to give that bug some extra bling and then you are done!

We decided not to write names on these and I highly recommend leaving them off.  The younger elementary and preschool kids don’t really care who the valentines are for or from if they are all fairly similar.
